Riding the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island is one of me and CG's favorite activities. It only takes 35 minutes each way and you get a great view of the city from Puget Sound. You can take a car and drive around Bainbridge Island if you like, but we've never done that--the main part of town is just a short walk from the ferry terminal, so a car isn't necessary to see the town. There isn't anything in Bainbridge that we can't do in Seattle, but we love the ferry ride--it's cheap entertainment! In 2014, for walk on passengers, the fare is $8 per person, which is round trip since there is no fare charged from Bainbridge Island to Seattle.
